Team Lead Software Architecture

工作地 Nänikon, Kanton Zürich, 瑞士 发布日期 October 02, 2026 职位 ID 23249
Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Laboratory Weighing (LabTec) is a global business unit of METTLER TOLEDO. Our employees develop, manufacture, and market high-precision instruments to enable our customers to achieve the greatest possible benefit in their demanding application areas. At our global operational headquarters in Nänikon-Greifensee, we are looking for a driven individual to join our Software Architecture Team as Team Lead Software Architecture 100% (f/m/d).

In this role, you will lead a team of around seven software architects, combining people leadership with strong technical architecture expertise. You will shape the architecture of our laboratory balances across product boundaries and drive modularization and harmonization forward.

In the early project phase, you will have the opportunity to make a visible impact: you will identify potential early, develop viable solution concepts, use prototypes in a targeted way, and create the basis for well-informed decisions. Your experience with modular, reusable architectures and platforms is highly valuable, as is your deep understanding of the interaction between in-house developed hardware and software.

By combining leadership strength, technical depth, and strategic thinking, you will help shape the technological future of our laboratory balances.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing technical and managerial leadership for around seven software architects.
  • Aligning architects across product lines and early project phases, and coordinating closely with project management and product management.
  • Facilitating architecture decisions, integrating different perspectives, and making decisions yourself when required.
  • Ensuring consistent standards, reviews, and traceable architecture decisions within the team.
  • Further developing the cross-product target architecture and actively driving modularization and harmonization.
  • Setting technical guardrails and considering maintainability, robustness, performance, OIML requirements, and cybersecurity from the outset.
  • Identifying architecture topics early, developing solution options, and preparing sound decision proposals.
  • Ensuring that our devices can be integrated into PC software and customer systems, and harmonizing interfaces, protocols, and data models.
  • Incorporating requirements for data integrity and cybersecurity into the architecture and acting as a technical advisor to management.
What You Need to Succeed
What we are looking for:
  • A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of experience as a software or systems architect for complex products.
  • Leadership experience with a team of similar size, ideally including disciplinary leadership.
  • Experience with modular, reusable architectures and platforms, as well as interfaces and the integration of devices into PC and data systems.
  • Experience in software development on in-house developed hardware, as well as Linux on devices (Debian), is a strong advantage.
  • Technology-independent architectural thinking, ideally with knowledge of C/C++ and C#.
  • Experience in regulated environments, including data integrity/GxP and cybersecurity in a product context (CRA, IEC 62443), is desirable.
  • A proactive, conceptually strong personality with clear communication and a proven ability to drive sound decisions even in ambiguous situations.
  • Very good English skills; German skills are a major advantage.
Our Offer to You
We offer:
  • Flexible working hours (depending on the role), a hybrid work model, and a wide portfolio of training opportunities
  • A 40-hour work week with at least 25 vacation days per year, plus 4 to 7 additional days off between bank holidays
  • Free parking and direct access to public transport
  • Employees in Urdorf can purchase monthly lunch checks and enjoy healthy meals at a reduced price, either externally or in our cafeteria
  • A range of additional attractive benefits, including employee discounts at select area businesses
You can expect challenging, interesting, and varied tasks in an innovative and international environment, with the opportunity to network globally and achieve your career goals.
